Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between aspen and pine?
Aspen wood is soft in feel and beautiful in color, it is normally pretty straight, but can have remarkable color and character.
Pine is generally lighter in color and tends to be more crooked with knots and burls.
The beetle kill or blue stain pine has grey or blue tints running throughout the veins of the wood.
How do I take care of my wood products?
You will periodically need to freshen the wood with a coat of oil. Lemon or orange oil works well, as this will help to maintain the beautiful finish.
How do I order?
You can order directly from the Imagine It Wood website. We use PayPal for our customers who want to use a credit card. PayPal is safe and secure. You can e-mail your order and mail us a check. Or you can call your order in and mail us a check.
How long will my order take?
Shipping time for items that are in stock is normally 5 to 7 business days.
Custom orders can take up to 3 to 4 weeks. Production times vary depending on the piece.
Delivering our products on time is very important to us, and we will not promise impossible deadlines just to get an order. If you have a specific delivery time frame for a custom order, please call us prior to ordering.
What is your shipping method?
We use U.S.P.S priority for most of our smaller items, and U.P.S. for our larger items.
Do you accept International orders?
Currently we are not shipping internationally.
What is your return policy?
No unauthorized returns will be accepted. If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, you must call us within 5 days, for return instructions. Custom orders are non-returnable.
What is the procedure on damaged merchandise?
Contact us immediately. We will send out a replacement item as soon as the damaged item is returned to us.
What is your Guarantee?
Imagine It Wood guarantees the quality of materials and their workmanship, on every piece they make.
Our customer’s satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us, as they are the foundation of our future success. If for any reason, our merchandise does not meet your expectations, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible.
What are checks, cracks, knots, wormholes and color variations?
These are not considered blemishes or defects, they add to the character of the wood.
Checking is the natural splitting found in dead aspen and pine trees and does not compromise the integrity or the strength of the wood.
What are your wood processing and finishing techniques?
All of our wood is harvested from the Northern Colorado Rocky Mountains. All wood is hand selected, hand cut and hand peeled. We use several finishing methods (depending on the piece) such as, sealing each piece with a satin polycrylic or polyurethane finish, or using a boiled linseed oil finish and then lacquering over it to preserve the beautiful colors and uphold the durability. All pieces are finished with a hand rubbed coat of beeswax and orange oil.
How do I accurately measure a lampshade that I want to replace?
The correct way to measure a lampshade is to measure the top diameter, the bottom diameter and the vertical height.
What if my lampshade hangs down to far on my lamp?
The height of the lampshade can be changed by changing the harp that holds the shade (if it’s not a clip on shade). Harps come in heights ranging from 5 ½” to 13”. The taller the harp, the higher the shade sits.
Do you sell any of my private information?
